tekom Europe proudly presented the Ulf L. Andersson Award 2025 to Esben Keller during NORDIC TechKomm Copenhagen on September 24, 2025.

This award recognizes individuals who make outstanding voluntary contributions to the tekom Europe community. Nominations are now open for the 2026 Ulf L. Andersson Award.

About the Ulf L. Andersson Award

In honor of Ulf L. Andersson, one of the founders of the Swedish Society of Technical Communication, tekom Europe introduced the Ulf L. Andersson Award in 2024. Ulf played an important role in shaping the profession and industry of technical communication. His dedication to professional association, publishing, and teaching continues to inspire technical communicators across Europe.

The award is presented annually to a tekom Europe member who has made a positive impact on the community without holding an official position (such as a board member). It highlights voluntary engagement, knowledge sharing, and community-building within the field.

About the 2025 Winner

Esben Keller was honored for his exceptional dedication to sharing his knowledge and promoting technical communication. He has been an active contributor within the tekom Danmark community, participating in educational events at universities and corporate gatherings. Through his enthusiasm and expertise, Esben has become an “ambassador” for career opportunities in technical communication, inspiring both students and professionals.

His nomination impressed the award board for its well-rounded scope: Esben transitioned into technical communication from another field and, over the past 12 years, has gained experience across nearly all aspects of technical writing. His broad engagement, from academic outreach to professional events, best fit the award’s purpose of fostering knowledge exchange and community development in academia and industry.

This year, tekom Europe received many nominations from respected experts across the community. The board encourages detailed nominations that highlight candidates’ achievements in both educational and professional development within technical communication.

Nominations Open for 2026

Everyone is invited to nominate a tekom Europe member for the 2026 Ulf L. Andersson Award. You do not need to be a tekom Europe member to submit a nomination. However, individuals currently holding official positions within tekom Europe—such as delegates or board members—are not eligible.

The prize includes free admission to one of our European conferences.In 2026, this would probably be the Evolution of TC conference, which takes place in Sofia on June 2–3, 2026, including travel and accommodation.

Nominations can be submitted using the form below, with a deadline of February 8, 2026.

The winner will be selected by a committee consisting of several tekom Europe members who hold or have held official positions. The award will be presented during the conference, and we encourage the prizewinner to attend in person.
