WANTED: Technical Articles for the tekom Europe Year Book 2018

Technical writing is your job, but do you also like writing about technical communication? Then this is your chance to get your ideas, insights, studies, and work in the field of technical communication published.

tekom Europe cordially invites you to contribute a paper to the Year Book 2018, Volume 2, December 2018. Year Books are a relatievely new publications series published by tekom Europe. This annual publication will be distributed at no cost to all tekom Europe members in PDF format. The topics of Year Books are determined by current trends in technical communication. Thus, we are looking for interesting proposals for articles in various areas of technical communication including – but not limited to – the following topics:

From A as in Augmented Reality to W as in Writing Standards

Augmented Reality – Content Management – Content Strategy – Developer Documentation – DITA – Dynamic Content Delivery – Future of Technical Writers – iiRDS –Information 4.0 – Intelligent Content – Knowledge Media – Laws and Standards – Localization and Translation – Marketing and Technical Communication – Mobile Documentation – Multimedia and Video Documentation – Professional Writing – Rule-based Writing – Service Documentation – Skills 4.0 and TC – Software-Documentation – Structured Writing – Technical Standards and Legal Compliance – Terminology – Usability – User Assistance – Visual Communication – Writing Standards

All Topics, All Levels Are Welcome

Our annual publication has no overall thematic focus. We welcome all articles – from new or experienced authors – on any of the above topics or other TC-related areas. Best practice reports are also welcome, as are papers taking into account a regional perspective or a country’s development in technical communication. We want our publication to be as varied as the wide target audience of our European members, from beginner to expert level in different industries. 

What Do We Need from You?

To apply as an author, please send us a title and abstract of your paper as well as your short CV. Which topics and subtopics will you concentrate on? The outline is designed to provide information to the executive board and will not be published. The board will use the outline to evaluate and accept/reject your article. All papers must be in English. 

What: 

  • Title (max. 100 characters including spaces) and
  • Abstract of your paper (max. 2000 characters including spaces), and
  • Short bio (max. 300 characters including spaces)

When: 

  • Deadline for submission is July 8, 2018

How: 

Who Will Select the Papers?

Papers will be selected by the tekom Europe Executive Board. The proposals will be collected at the tekom Europe head office and forwarded to the review board. You should receive feedback on your paper end of July, 2018.

Authors of accepted papers will have until September 30, 2018 to submit their full article. tekom Europe will provide a guideline for authors and a template.
