Tekom Belgium - Gent Event

Dear Tekom members and friends,

We are very happy to invite you to our next Tekom event in Gent which will take place on 22nd of September at UGent.

During the afternoon, we would like to share thoughts with you and our speakers, on how processes and technology help technical writers and translators during the creation process and ultimately, lead to a higher user experience.

Below you find an introduction to our speakers and topics, we hope to see you in September! 

Frederik Reyntjens, Picanol

Frederik Reyntjens is Training & TecDoc Manager at Picanol Weaving Machines. He will show us how new technologies help Picanol give remote assistance to their operators and customers. He will demonstrate how HoloLens and Mixed Reality is used for training purposes and operator support, as well as for getting customers and potential customers familiar with the functionalities of the weaving machines.

Alexander Becker, Congree

Alexander Becker is an enthusiastic computational linguist. Writing is critical to an effective and successful user experience. Alexander will explain more about controlled language in technical documentation and how Congree technology can support writers to use the right terminology. He will focus on technical possibilities and how they fit into reality.

Henk Boxma, RIGI

As principal internationalization and localization architect, Henk Boxma is an expert in the localization industry. His mission is to simplify and enhance software localization for all stakeholders. He took a big step towards this goal by offering dynamic visual context for translators. Henk will explain how the RIGI platform is already supporting many software companies to streamline the overall localization process and enhance user experience.

Susanna Akdut, Roxell

Susanna Akdut is member of the initiative committee of Tekom Belgium and is active member of Advisory Board for Legislation and Standards at Tekom Europe.  She is technical writer and certification expert in the field of product conformity. At the HQ of Roxell BV in Belgium, she is responsible for product certification.

Susanna and the Tekom Belgium IC members will give a brief status update on the the New Machinery Regulation and the impact on translations and printing of user instructions.
