From Hidden Contributors to Essential Partners: The Strategic Value of Technical Writers
A joint online event by tekom Austria, Hungary, Romania, Switzerland and Türkiye.
Date: Thursday, 10 December 2026
Time: 3:00–5:30 PM CET / 4:00–6:30 PM EET / 5:00–7:30 PM Turkish Time
Location: Online via Zoom
About the event
Technical writers do more than produce documentation. They manage complex information flows, structure knowledge, improve content processes and help organizations prepare reliable data for AI-driven solutions. This webinar shows how technical writers support product quality, customer experience and AI implementation.
The event encourages technical writers to make their expertise more visible, to talk about their value with confidence and to take their place as essential partners in product development, innovation and AI readiness.
Five speakers from five countries will each give a 30-minute session: a 20–25 minute talk followed by 5–10 minutes of Q&A.
Programme
3:00–3:30 PM CET / 4:00–4:30 PM EET / 5:00–5:30 PM TRT
From Sorcerer’s Apprentice to Plant Manager: Keeping AI in the CCMS Under Control
Sebastian Göttel, Quanos (tekom Switzerland)
“Technical documentation? AI will be doing that soon enough!” Is AI about to replace us, or does it need us and our CCMS more than ever? This talk goes through three stages, from a simple AI tool to a content factory. In the content factory, AI produces documentation at industrial scale, and it stays under control through clear orders, guardrails and an emergency stop button.
3:30–4:00 PM CET / 4:30–5:00 PM EET / 5:30–6:00 PM TRT
How Structured Terminology Makes Enterprise AI Precise
Klaus Fleischmann, Kaleidoscope GmbH (tekom Austria)
Without company knowledge and product context, large language models (LLMs) hallucinate, use inconsistent wording and go off-brand. That leads to costly review and rework. Glossaries and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) often don’t give precise enough context. This session shows how connecting a structured, multilingual termbase to LLMs through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) makes AI output reliable, protects brand voice, removes manual rework and saves tokens.
4:00–4:30 PM CET / 5:00–5:30 PM EET / 6:00–6:30 PM TRT
Role of skills.md and MCP Server in Technical Communication
Selvaraaju Murugesan, Kovai.co (tekom Türkiye)
A skills file packages a writer’s workflows, information architecture, style guides and templates into a reusable file that an AI agent can follow. An MCP server then runs those workflows on your real documentation platform. You’ll watch a skill being built from scratch, see it connect to a documentation platform and follow a real workflow from prompt to published output.
4:30–5:00 PM CET / 5:30–6:00 PM EET / 6:30–7:00 PM TRT
Confidently Wrong: Spotting AI’s Logical Fallacies Before They Ship in Your Docs
Sonia Pavlenko, Ascom Mobile Solutions & Melania Duma, UiPath (tekom Romania)
AI tools are now asked to check documentation as well as draft it. A false “Yes, verified!” rarely gets caught, though. Using eight classic logical fallacies, each shown with a real prompt and AI response, this talk shows how confident wording can take the place of actual checking. You’ll leave with a practical checklist for questioning an AI’s “done” before it ships.
5:00–5:30 PM CET / 6:00–6:30 PM EET / 7:00–7:30 PM TRT
Technical Writers – Changing Requirements Through the Eyes of a Consultancy Company
Adrienn Miklós, Sigma Technology Hungary (tekom Hungary)
How do technical writers find their way in a field shaped by AI, economic disruption and uncertainty? This session looks at trends and changing requirements across sectors such as automotive, manufacturing, telecommunications, transportation, healthcare and energy. It also covers the ways technical writers add value and support business success.
