How do I get my conference access to 'tekom live'?

As a conference attendee, you log in to 'tekom live'. You are already registered as a conference attendee in the system and can use all functions.

What do I need to consider in the company network for conference participation?

Test the access to the different virtual rooms in advance. For this purpose, use the workstation and PC that you also use for the meeting.
If necessary, contact your IT department. This is because the firewall in your company network may be blocking virtual room functions.
If you want to limit the domains, you must allow cookies for the following domains:
- tekom.de
- tekom.org
- tekom.12bis3.de
- goto domains (Domains from GoToWebinar, GoToMeeting)
You can start all virtual rooms in the browser. It is not necessary to download any file.

How do I best prepare my technology for the conference and exhibition?

Test the access using the workstation and PC that you also use for the meeting.
Note the system requirements for participation.
Update the browser you want to use.
Allow cookies from third-party providers.
As a speaker a LAN connection to your router is recommended.
If you have a poor Internet connection, it is best to use a LAN connection to your router.
If you would like to participate in meetups and workshops and exchange ideas at the exhibition and Café
tekom, test your audio and video in advance.
Use a headset for interactive event formats, the exhibition and visiting Café tekom.
Check if your PC meets the system requirements.

BigBlueButton - Internet Connection Check

Use the speed test of Chip.de to test your internet connection
Recommended connection values:

Download: min. 1 Mbit/s – ideally 5 Mbit/s
Upload: min. 0.5 MBit/s – ideally 1 MBit/s
Latency and Jitter: Smallest possible values
Connection to Router: LAN cable

What are the technical requirements for conference attendance and exhibition participation?

Different virtual rooms will be used for the meeting and exhibition. You can enter any of the virtual rooms by following the system requirements below. If you have problems in a virtual room, please refer to the specific system requirements.

Operating System

All operating systems are possible for the browser versions of the virtual rooms.

Download the GoToWebinar or GoToMeeting desktop app:

Windows 7 to Windows 10
Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) – macOS Catalina (10.15)

Hardware

4 GB RAM (recommended) – 2 GB RAM (min.)
Webcam for meetups, workshops, Café tekom, video calls after individual conference events and in the showrooms
Microphone and loudspeakers (USB headset recommended)

Browser

The latest versions of:

Microsoft Edge (min. v77)
Mozilla Firefox (min. 34)
Google Chrome (min. 39 = older version activate JavaScript)

Cookies

Allow cookies from third-party providers.
In corporate networks, the network server must also allow the cookies.
If you want to limit the domains, it is necessary to allow cookies for the following domains:

Adblocker

In the adblocker for the domains, make an exception: tekom.de, tekom.org, tekom.12bis3.de

Website Tracking (BigBlueButton with Safari)

The safari browser is not recommended. If you still need to use the browser, you must allow website tracking.

In Settings > Privacy uncheck the checkbox of "Website Tracking".

Internet Connection

1 Mbit/s or more (broadband recommended)

For GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar, you can download a desktop app. This is especially necessary for speakers.

'tekom live', 'my conference tool' and the virtual rooms can be viewed on the smartphone or tablet.

In the case of virtual rooms, the range of functions in the mobile version is limited. For GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar, apps for iOS and Android are available.

BigBlueButton

BigBlueButton uses the default browser of your mobile device.

GoToMeeting

An app for the smartphone or tablet is necessary. You can download the apps for free from the app store.

Different spaces are used depending on the format: BigBlueButton, GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar

GoToWebinar: Technical presentations, partner presentations, tutorials

Exhibition
