The topic "The slacker in me showed me the way, how I became a more efficient Tech writer" is a compilation of tips and tricks that Johanna Hansen has learned over the years, that allows her to plan and prioritize, and to focus on some tasks, and automate or simplify other tasks. 

Speaker: Johanna Hansen

Johanna Hansen, Senior Technical Communicator informiQ, currently assigned at European Spallation Source ERIC. Technical communicator since 2001 working within multiple areas (food, medical, packaging, industry, and software) with tech writing, coordination, configuration management, change management and XML implementations.

 

A cunning plan to improve your content strategy

In this session, Mads and Kristine will present how they work with content strategy at Milestone. In the fast-paced world of Technical Communication, having a clear plan on the what, why, and how you produce your content is a must.

You will learn about what content strategy entails, how we are using it at Milestone to reach our goals, and hopefully, be inspired to think strategically about your overall content creation process.

 

Speakers Kristine Howkins Lange and Mads Holmsgaard Eriksen

Mads has worked with technical communication for over 12 years, starting his career in Milestone before a four-year stint away at other companies, only to reunite with Milestone again just in time for the COVID lockdowns. Mads has previously worked as a team lead at Milestone and is now an aspiring content strategist.  

Kristine has a wealth of experience in technical communication - as an editor, writer, and terminologist, and from owning her own communications business, Redpen. Kristine worked at Milestone ten years ago as a technical communicator with Mads. After eight years of trying out different positions at different companies (Content Strategist, Customer Success Manager, and Editor in Chief), she is happy to have returned to Milestone to head up a team of technical communicators.
