International University Network in Technical Communication

We are seeking speakers from both academia and industry to share their expertise and insights on a wide range of topics related to technical communication and related fields.

Organized by the tekom Europe Advisory Board for Professional Development and Training

The International University Network in Technical Communication invites university teachers, students and professionals from companies around the world to contribute to our upcoming online meetings.

The purpose of our network is to provide support and a platform for university teachers and staff who are currently running or are interested in developing programs or modules in technical communication. Through this network, participants can exchange experiences and ideas to enhance their existing programs, initiate new initiatives, or collaborate on research projects.

We welcome submissions on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:

  • Current trends and developments in technical communication, including AI and content delivery
  • Projects – also including students theses.
  • Company needs e.g. competence requirements
  • Panel discussion: How to recruit students: Factors, experiences and initiatives
  • Panel discussion: How AI and technology are changing teaching and examination
  • Panel discussion: New technologies in Technical Communication and Technical Translation and how they are changing studies
  • Translation and localization in technical communication
  • Curriculum design and planning
  • Collaboration opportunities and best practices
  • And any other topics relevant to technical communication, translation and localization and related disciplines.

Who Can Contribute

We invite individuals from both academia – also including students - and industry who are passionate about technical communication and related fields to actively contribute to our network. Whether you want to share your expertise, seek collaborations, or simply join the discussions, you are welcome to participate.

Meeting Format

Our network meets regularly, approximately every 6 to 8 weeks, via one-hour online meetings using Zoom. We encourage participants to propose topics and offer different formats for presentations and discussions.
