tekom Europe Announces Newly Elected Executive Board Members, Arbitration Tribunal and Cash Auditors

On April 21, 2026, the 31st tekom Europe assembly of delegates took place in Budapest, bringing together representatives from across the European technical communication community for a day of reporting, discussion, planning, and elections.

The agenda covered reports from the outgoing executive board, updates from both the standard committee and the education and training committee, and the presentation of the upcoming Manifesto and Business Plan. The assembly concluded with an open discussion and reports from the country organizations and corporate members, reflecting the collaborative and international spirit of tekom Europe.

A central focus of this assembly of delegates was the election of the new executive board, arbitration tribunal and cash auditors for the upcoming three-year term.

The newly elected members of the executive board for the term 2026–2029 are:

  • Birgit Fuhrmann as chairperson
  • Frank Kimmerle as deputy chairperson
  • Ezriel Yellin as treasurer

The position of secretary remains open. By-elections will be organized shortly to complete the executive board by summer 2026. Following this, the executive board plans to send out a direct welcome message.

The newly elected cash auditors are:

  • Steen Magnussen
  • Magali Baumgartner (substitute)
  • Paula Stern (substitute)

The newly elected members of the arbitration tribunal are:

  • Ágnes Czinkcózki
  • Franz Steiner
  • Magali Baumgartner
  • Paula Stern (substitute)

tekom Europe also expresses its sincere appreciation to the outgoing executive board members — Tiziana Sicilia (chairperson), Magali Baumgartner (deputy chairperson), Gary Manders (treasurer), and Josef Kubovsky (secretary) — for the dedicated work they accomplished and their great contribution to the development of tekom Europe over the past six years.

Reflecting on her term as chairperson, Tiziana Sicilia shared the following message with the tekom Europe community:

“I’ve always been aware that holding a position at European level meant taking on a responsibility that extends far beyond the borders of a single country. Every choice carried with it the weight — and the privilege — of representing the European organization for technical communication in Europe and beyond, creating a real and concrete global organization, including national communities with their own needs and experiences.

A very long professional and personal journey marked by countless professionals, companies, projects, events, conferences, meetings, knowledge sharing, and important steps ahead for the largest community of technical communicators. Thank you all, it was a great pleasure and an honor to be the Chair of tekom Europe in these years.”

tekom Europe congratulates all newly elected representatives and looks forward to continuing its work together with the community in advancing technical communication across Europe.
