Status of standardization work on the multi-part standard IEC/ISO 82079
Standardization work is currently underway on four parts of the IEC/ISO 82079 standard “Preparation of information for use (instructions for use) of products”. We would like to provide a brief overview of the status of international standardization work. The standardization work is carried out in Joint Working Group 16 (JWG 16) of IEC TC 3 and ISO/TC10/SC 1. We have several experts in tekom Europe who are also members in JWG 16, ensuring that the interests of our community are represented.

iiRDS Advances in International Standardization
With the approval of the New Work Item Proposal (NP) by IEC Technical Committee 3, iiRDS is one step closer to becoming an international standard. The NP, titled "Intelligent Information Request and Delivery – A Process Model for the Exchange of Information for Use," is based on IEC PAS 63485:2023. Additionally, iiRDS is further embedded in Industry 4.0 with the publication of the IDTA submodel "Intelligent Information for Use," which is based on iiRDS.
