Election of the Executive Board, Arbitration Tribunal, and Cash Auditors of tekom Europe

We invite you to play an active role in shaping the future of tekom Europe. 

Application deadline: February 15, 2026 

Election: April 21, 2026 

The term of office is three years and is expected to run from May 1, 2026, to April 31, 2029. 

The term of office of the current executive board (EB), the arbitration tribunal, and the cash auditors of tekom Europe will end in the coming months. New elections will therefore be held at the first assembly of delegates with the newly elected delegates on April 21, 2026. 

We are seeking candidates willing to stand for election to the executive board, arbitration tribunal, or as cash auditors for the coming term of office. 

Eligibility for Election 

  • Executive Board: Eligible candidates are natural persons who are either members of tekom Europe or members of a corporate member of tekom Europe. It is not necessary to be a delegate to be eligible for election. 

  • Arbitration Tribunal: All tekom Europe members aged 35 or older are eligible to serve on the arbitration tribunal. 

  • Cash Auditors: All tekom Europe members are eligible to serve as cash auditors.

    Positions on the Executive Board (EB)

    The chairperson coordinates the work of the executive board, convenes and chairs EB meetings and the assembly of delegates (AoD), and represents tekom Europe internally and externally. This includes, for example, giving speeches at conferences or trade fairs and maintaining networks on behalf of tekom Europe.  

    The position offers a unique opportunity to actively shape the further development of tekom externally, establish new contacts, and support the advancement of technical communication nationally and internationally. 

    The deputy chairperson supports the chairperson in fulfilling their duties and represents them in their absence. Responsibilities include assisting in the coordination of the EB's work and supporting the convening and chairing of EB meetings and assemblies of delegates. 

    The deputy chairperson also represents tekom Europe internally and externally, contributes to networking activities, and supports the implementation of EB projects and initiatives in accordance with the Articles of Association and EB resolutions. 

    The secretary is responsible for the proper documentation of EB meetings and assemblies of delegates. Key tasks include preparing, maintaining, and archiving minutes that record the resolutions and discussions. The secretary also prepares the annual report, involving the other EB members as needed, and supports the administration and maintenance of important documents, ensuring they are accessible and up to date. 

    The treasurer is responsible for the financial management and oversight of the association. Key tasks include preparing the budget, monitoring compliance with it, and regularly reporting on the financial situation to the executive board. 

    The Treasurer oversees accounting activities carried out by the office staff, ensures that annual financial statements are prepared on time, and ensures that all financial activities comply with legal and statutory requirements. The treasurer manages membership fees and monitors the association's income and expenditure. 

    General information about the Executive Board

    The executive board is responsible for organizing the association's activities and represents tekom Europe in accordance with the legal requirements for registration. It is responsible for all matters not assigned to another body and may appoint advisory boards or employees to support its work.  

    The executive board constitutes the governing body within the meaning of Section 26 of the German Civil Code (BGB). It represents the association judicially and extrajudicially. The association is represented by the chairperson together with another member of the executive board, or by the deputy chairperson together with another member of the executive board.
