ISO/IEC has published a set of standards (ISO/IEC 26511-26515) for software documentation. Each standard addresses specific target groups with their roles and tasks in the information development process.
These standards are important tools not only for technical writers. They can also help software developers and other stakeholders concerned with software processes to know the requirements for their information products and the processes of developing such products.
This webinar introduces the series and gives an overview of the individual standards and their relationships.

Sissi Closs is professor of Information and Media Technology at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, and owner of C-Topic Consulting. She is considered one of Germany's leading experts in the area of online documentation, single source publishing, XML, and DITA and has written and published many books on software documentation, and for many years has advised publishing houses and professional associations in the field technical documentation.
