Arbitration Center of the Personal Certification Center of tekom

In order to ensure impartiality and fairness, the personal certification center for tekom certification has set up an organizationally independent arbitration center to decide on appeals against certification decisions and complaints.

All appeals and complaints received by the certification center are forwarded to the arbitration center.

The arbitration center examines the formal and substantive justification of appeals and complaints on the basis of its guidelines and normative requirements. If the arbitration center considers the merits of an objection/complaint to be justified, it shall contact the head of the personal certification center or, in the case of complaints concerning the organizational procedure, the representative for operational management and order correction or remedy. The concrete implementation is the responsibility of the certification center. As a rule, the arbitration center decides on appeals and complaints within 4 weeks.

How are appeals filed?

Objections to certification decisions must be sent in writing within one month of receipt of the certification decisions, if possible (but not mandatory) using the form for objections and complaints:

Gesellschaft für Technische Kommunikation – tekom Deutschland e.V.
Personal Certification Center
Rotebühlstraße 64
70178 Stuttgart
GERMANY

You will immediately receive confirmation of receipt.

Important:

Objections must state the following minimum content:

  • Name of the opposition leader incl. contact details
  • The certification decision against which an appeal is filed
  • Facts giving rise to an objection / Reasons for the objection

The objection must be signed by you yourself. The date of receipt at the personal certification center shall be decisive for compliance with the deadline. The original documents may be sent in advance by email or fax, provided that the original documents are received by the certification center within one week.

How is a complaint filed?

Complaints about certified persons, about persons involved in the certification or about circumstances in connection with the certification (premises, time schedule, etc.) can also be made

Complaints can be sent to the certification center either informally or using the form for objections and complaints:

Gesellschaft für Technische Kommunikation – tekom Deutschland e.V.
Personal Certification Center
Rotebühlstraße 64
70178 Stuttgart
GERMANY

The submission of complaints is not limited by any deadline. If you file a complaint by email, fax or post, you will immediately receive confirmation of receipt.

The filing of an opposition or a complaint never leads to a disadvantage for the objector or complainant. Objections and complaints are seen as an opportunity to uncover problems and errors and to constantly improve the processes through suitable corrective measures.
