Next Event on November 14

Reuse strategies and information architectures applied to CCMS usage

The next tekom Danmark event will take place at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy A/S in Brande on Tuesday November 14, 2017.

How do you structure your content to optimize reusability? At this event we will discuss best practice for structuring content, classification of topics, information architecture and CCMS usage. The presenters will give you both theoretical knowledge and examples from their daily work.

Event sponsor: Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy A/S (visit website)

Visit at Siemens Gamesa Diagnostic Center

Wind turbines are often located in remote areas. The remote monitoring and diagnostics services, keep eyes and ears on Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy's wind turbines worldwide and resolve alarms with no need for a service team to visit the site. In addition, the diagnostic experts can detect potential errors before they become serious.
We will visit the Siemens Gamesa Diagnostic Center and learn why this is an important part of Siemens' portfolio of value-added services.

Presentation 1:
Reuse and dynamic content in Tech. Doc.

Keld Jellesen
CEO and Founder, Advice2u

In this presentation Keld Jellesen, Advice2u, will primarily use DITA as the mechanism to describe reuse and dynamic content. We will look at practical examples with offset in XML, so for people who is not used to structured content in XML Keld will project this also into more unstructured concepts for making technical documentation. Besides consulting in DITA-XML Advice2u are also developing stuff around DITA-XML like stylesheet work. Advice2u is also a software development company and has developed a platform based upon DITA, where people easily can develop mobile applications e.g. checklists. Advice2u is based at the Science Park at DTU (Danish Technical University).

Keld Jellesen will talk about reuse and dynamic content in technical documentation particularly in relation to big machinery with high complexity like wind turbines and airplanes. Most likely this will also work in other fields/domains. It is just a matter of extrapolating the concepts. Keld has a long history in structured contents and XML. He started around 1996 working in the aviation industry and has been involved in standardisation work in S1000D and DITA (both Tech.Doc. XML protocols).

Presentation 2:
Content reuse strategy at Grundfos

Francois Guillome
Project Engineer, GRUNDFOS Holding A/S

At Grundfos, the Technical Marketing department is driving the implementation of a content reuse strategy, based principally on the xml standard for structured authoring, DITA. Francois Guillome will explain how Grundfos is planning their reuse strategy and how at the same time they are experimenting with it. Furthermore he will present how their vision for reuse defines the requirements for a new CCMS.
